On May 15,
1975, fifteen-year-old Ginny Lemon is abducted from a convenience store in Fort
Lauderdale by a member of one of the most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs
in South Florida.
From that
moment on, her life is forever changed. She gets a new name, a new identity and
a new life in the midst of the gang’s base on the edge of the Florida
Everglades—a frightening, rough and violent world much like the swamps
themselves, where everyone has an alias and loyalty is tantamount to survival.
And at the
center of it all is the gang’s leader, Grizz: massive, ruggedly handsome,
terrifying and somehow, when it comes to Ginny, tender. She becomes his
obsession and the one true love of his life.
So begins a
tale of emotional obsession and manipulation, of a young woman ripped from
everything she knows and forced to lean on the one person who provides
attention, affection and care: her captor. Precocious and intelligent, but
still very much a teenager, Ginny struggles to adapt to her existence, initially
fighting and then coming to terms with her captivity.
Will she be
rescued? Will she escape? Will she get out alive—or get out at all? Part
psychological thriller, part coming-of-age novel, filled with mystery, romance
and unexpected turns, Nine Minutes takes readers into the world of one
motorcycle gang and inside the heart of a young girl, whose abduction brought
about its fall.
Five HUGE CRACK
BOOK Stars
“A story
about a man who has loved me from the very beginning, from the first glance.
The man who always was and still is my soul mate. That’s the only love story
now.”
DAMN. That was
a fucking brilliant!!
This book has
brought me out of my MASSIVE book funk only to put me back into another one.
Fuck! My head is still spinning. And just when I think it the rollercoaster was
over, I entered another tunnel and was thrust into a whole new are-you-fucking-kidding-me!
moment.
Just.
Fucking.
Wow.
“Why me?
It’s obvious you can have any woman you want. Why do you want me, Grizz?
Truthfully. Why?
Guinevere
should’ve known better and not have gotten on back of that motorcycle. She
should’ve just waited for her stepdad to pick her up.
But she didn’t.
Instead she got on back that motorcycle and before she could stop it, her life
is forever changed.
Guinevere, now
known as Kit to the MC, was initially told that she was just a “thank you” gift
to Grizz, the MC’s leader. What you slowly find out is that her abduction was
carefully planned and coordinated by Grizz himself.
Grizz. Oh,
Grizz. He is one badass motherfucker and no one fucked with him without facing
the consequences. He is an anomaly, really. He could be completely sadistic one
minute and tender the next. God! I loved him.
I was
starting to go under again. I quickly opened my eyes in an attempt to stay
awake. But to no avail. They were slowly closing. As they were closing for the
last time and I was losing consciousness, I was certain I saw tears in his
eyes.
Here are a few
words of caution before you decide to pick up this book:
~ I’m going to
be honest. The prologue...it was a bit tough to read, and I almost gave up
because of what it divulged. However, with that said, if you feel the same
way...DO NOT GIVE UP! KEEP READING!! I promise you, you will not regret
it.
~ If underage
sex bothers you, then you will be uncomfortable with this storyline, especially
since the heroine is fifteen years old when she gets abducted.
~ There is a
good amount of violence and other objectionable situations that I even cringed
at, including rape and torture.
“Let’s
get this shit over with.”
This story will
keep you enthralled and completely engrossed in the story. There were times
where I would get sad and conflicted (especially because I developed a crush on
both Grizz AND Grunt, another MC brother), but the way the story slowly
unfolded was pure genius. When you get to the ending, things just started
spiraling and by the time all the secrets came out, I was SHOCKED and
wanting book two immediately. Is it a cliffhanger? Yes & no. It’s hard to
explain, but I just want more!!
Bravo, Ms. Flynn! Bravo.
