Author Bio

Elena M. Reyes was born and raised in Miami Florida. She is the epitome of a Floridian and if she could live in her beloved flip-flops, she would.

As a small child, she was always intrigued with all forms of art—whether it was dancing to island rhythms, or painting with any medium she could get her hands on. Her first taste of writing came to her during her fifth grade year when her class was prompted to participate in the D. A. R. E. Program and write an essay on what they’d learned.

Her passion for reading over the years has amassed her with hours of pleasure. It wasn't until she stumbled upon fanfiction that her thirst to write overtook her world. She now resides in Central Florida with her husband and son, spending all her down time letting her creativity flow and letting her characters grow.

Love is Blind by Shayna B.

Hailey Baker was a normal teenager- friends, the occasional party and a great boyfriend. But that all changes one night when an accident kills her parents and leaves Hailey with a serious back injury.

Seven months after the accident, Hailey has struggled to learn to walk again and is now about to start at a new school after moving in with her uncle. Determined to live a normal life, she doesn't let her injury slow her down. When she meets Blake Adams, her life changes once again- this time for the better.

Blake was the school's golden boy until he lost his sight in a freak accident two years earlier. Going through life withdrawn and miserable, he expects to remain alone for the rest of his life. But then he meets Hailey, and all his expectations are thrown to the wind.
Four Stars

“Since I’m blind, you shouldn’t get mad when I don’t see things other people can see.”

This book was brought to my attention from one of my GR friends. Once I read the synopsis, I was intrigued. I love stories involving damaged Heroes. I find them extra brooding and extra moody. More often than not, that hard exterior is just a cover up. Buried underneath all that lays a man who’s sensitive, caring, loyal and loving. And boy was I right.

“What if I decide to keep going the way I have been?”
“Then I feel sorry for you. Life’s full of too many wonders to waste it wallowing in misery. Do you want to just exist? Or do you want to actually live?”

Our heroine, Hailey is on the hard road to recovery. She’s been through a lot in the past year. She’s lost her parents to a horrific car accident, while in the same accident leaving her brother in a coma and leaving her with a severely injured back. Depression and doubt was plaguing her, especially when her prognosis for walking again was low. However, with the help of her Uncle Liam and her brother’s best friend, Jared, she was able to overcome a lot. Though she’s not a 100%, she is able to walk, but does have bouts where she still occasionally uses a wheelchair. After the accident, she wasn’t ready to face her friends so she moved in with her Uncle and started at a new school.

He nuzzled at my neck. “I can’t change who I am.”
I shivered a little as his breath tickles me. “I’ll never ask you to change who you are. Although I might try to tweak you a little bit here and there.”

Blake lost his sight about two years ago. A lot has changed since that time. He no longer wants to hang out with his friends, he’s become unapproachable and known to have a quite the temper. When he meets Hailey he was rude, harsh and just downright unfriendly. What did this girl want from him?

Hailey didn’t know what to make of Blake the first time she met him. She sensed a connection of some sort from him despite his cranky and moody disposition. It wouldn’t take long to find that out that she and Blake share a commonality. It was this commonality and empathy for each other that eventually brought them together.

He gave me a light kiss. “So you’ll be my girlfriend?
“Yeah, I’ll be your girlfriend.”
“You’ll probably regret it at some point.”
I laughed. “You’re probably right,” I agreed teasingly.

This was story had lots of emotional moments and is very heartwarming. I really enjoyed seeing Blake’s moody exterior coming crashing down. Bailey didn’t try to change him. As a matter of fact, he was still pretty moody, but just a toned down version of him. I loved it. The pace was just right and nothing was rushed, nor was there a ton of unnecessary drama nor angst. Just an all-around good, YA story.

Release Date: October 9, 2013

I am so happy that I was given this book to review because let me just tell you what a sweet little gem it is!! For a debut novel it ROCKED!! Bravo Ms. Louise – I can’t wait for more!

Melissa heads off to a spa retreat in the hopes that a week of relaxing will help her forget, if only for a little while, the nightmare that her life has become. She never expected to meet a deliciously sexy man who brings out the sex goddess in her! But oh, does she ever!

Derek Alexander, ex-cop, ex-Marine, all around holy shit sex-on-a-stick (sorry, I tend to get distracted where Derek is concerned) is at the same spa resort for a financial security convention. They meet one night in the bar at the resort and OMG do the sparks fly!! Lots of incredibly hot, dirty sex between these two commences. But of course Melissa believes herself to be totally unavailable and they decide to have a one-week stand.

Of course even a week, or less really, of that kind of emotionally intense connection, even if they both only want to act like it’s just sex, will obviously result in feelings. And oh yeah, there are feelings. Lots of them! Problem is they both have lives with secrets. Melissa is certain she has fallen in love with Derek, and fairly certain he feels the same, and is determined that once her drama is wrapped up she will go to him.

That is until Derek’s secret threatens to tear them apart for good!! This book was chocked full of delicious sex, a little heartache, some tears (mine included) and some drama and suspense all topped off with a beautiful HEA!! I fell in love HARD with these characters and really enjoyed the time that I got to spend with them!! I am anxiously awaiting the next installment in this series! I am hooked!

Teased (VIP Room #1) by Jamie Begley ~ Book Spotlight & Giveaway!

About the Book:

Title: Teased

Series: The VIP Room #1

Author: By Jamie Begley

Release: Published October 4th 2013 by Young Ink Press, LLC

Book Blurb:

“Here comes Trouble!” Colton took one look at the stripper on stage and knew that was exactly what Vida was, trouble. He had no desire to succumb to the young woman tantalizing men with her provocative movements and killer body with no intention of satisfying their fantasies. Fresh out of prison, his tattoo shop and getting rid of an aggravating ex were his first priorities, not a woman who should know better than to become involved in a situation that could get her killed.

Vida will do anything to save her friend’s life, even if it includes stripping on stage and doing lap dances in the VIP room under her stage name Trouble. All the sensuous moves were just an illusion to gain the information she needed, even if it meant the men who watched thought she would keep the promises her body was making.

Forced to sift through lies and betrayals, Colton discovers a woman who is as loving as she is loyal, but won’t give him a chance. Vida, who tries to ignore the escalating passion between them, learns the hard way that some men shouldn’t be teased…

Excerpt:

“I need to go to the bathroom,” Vida told him, trying to get off his lap.
Colton held her still with his hands on her hips. “In a minute.” His hands slipped to her ass, adjusting her until he notched her pussy against his cock where thankfully, Vida noticed, he had on a pair of sweat bottoms.
She had a terrible feeling she didn’t want to hear what he was about to say.
“Why are you still a virgin, Vida? No boyfriends in high school or college?” he questioned.
Vida was right; she didn’t want to hear his questions, much less answer them. Her lips tightened.
“It’s none of your business,” she finally answered.
“Yes, it is, since I’m the one going to take it,” he said casually.
“No, you’re not,” Vida snapped.
“Yes, baby, I am.” He lifted his pelvis until she could feel his hard cock against her folds. Desire threatened to rise again and Vida felt herself begin to want him.
Vida shook her head. He was everything she didn’t want in a man, everything she had sworn never to become attached to. Yet, he was sitting there, thinking he was going to take from her a gift that she had planned on keeping for someone special for years.
“No, you won’t. I have saved myself for the man I fall in love with, which is not you, nor will it ever be you. I won’t be like my mother, falling in love with one man after another, losing a piece of herself after each one. Do you know how many dads she brought home? Introduced me to? Each one she was sure was going to put that ring on her finger and make all her dreams come true. They never did, each one slept with her and used her until they were satisfied then they left her crying. She would cry for days, until she met the next one and fell just as hard.
“I am going to save myself for one man. A man who I know is going to love me as much as I love him, and won’t leave me for the next piece of pussy he sees. He will be as committed to me as I am to him. That will not be you, you’re a horn dog, and you’re married!” she yelled.
Colton rose up from his relaxed position, bringing his chest against hers.
“The only man that is going to be between your thighs is me. I am going to take that sweet little cherry of yours and make it mine. You made yourself so many promises when you were a little girl there’s no way you can keep them all. You’re not a little girl anymore, Vida. You’re a woman and you’re going to want my cock in you. You’re going to want it all the time.” Leaning back against the headboard again, he gave her a tender smile. “If you’re a good girl, I’ll give it to you any time you want. If you’re not, I’ll make you beg for it.” He gave her an arrogant smile that Vida had to restrain herself from knocking off him with the fist clenched at her side.
“You ass!” Vida moved to jump off him, and this time he let her go with a laugh.
“You better hurry up; we’re late.” Colton’s voice followed her into the bathroom. She made sure to slam the door loud enough for him to hear.

About the Author:

I was born in a small town in Kentucky. My family began poor, but worked their way to owning a restaurant. My mother was one of the best cooks I have ever known, and she instilled in all her children the value of hard work, and education.

Taking after my mother, I’ve always love to cook, and became pretty good if I do say so myself. I love to experiment and my unfortunate family has suffered through many. They now have learned to steer clear of those dishes. I absolutely love the holidays and my family put up with my zany decorations.

For now, my days are spent at work and I write during the nights and weekends. I have two children who both graduate next year from college. My daughter does my book covers, and my son just tries not to blush when someone asks him about my books.

Currently I am writing three series of books- The Last Riders that is fairly popular, The Dark Souls series, which is not, and The VIP Room, which we will soon see. My favorite book I have written is Soul Of A Woman, which I am hoping to release during the summer of 2014. It took me two years to write, during which I lost my mother, and brother. It’s a book that I truly feel captures the true depths of love a woman can hold for a man. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I am an emotional writer who wants the readers to feel the emotion of the characters they are reading. Because of this, Teased is probably the hardest thing I have written.

All my books are written for one purpose- the enjoyment others find in them, and the expectations of my fans that inspire me to give it my best. In the near future I hope to take a weekend break and visit Vegas that will hopefully be next summer. Right now I am typing away on Knox’s story and looking forward to the coming holidays. Did I mention I love the holidays?

Book Blurb:
Knox, a former Navy Seal, has been in several dangerous situations, but nothing compares to dealing with Diamond Richards. Framed for murder, he needs the passionless lawyer to prove his innocence. But when he no longer needs her help, he’s going to show her the passion she’s capable of and walk away a free man.

Diamond plans on earning her huge fee to prove Knox is innocent, but she had no idea the muscled biker could bring out the passion she kept hidden behind her designer clothes. Trying to find a murderer is easier than dealing with The Last Riders and Knox’s sexcapades. He’s going to find out there is one woman worth standing and fighting for, despite his desire for freedom.

Excerpt

“Hell, no; I’m not going through this shit again.” Diamond jumped when she heard Jewell’s voice.
“Excuse me?” Diamond said to the woman staring at her.
“We lost Razer because Beth couldn’t share. Then we lost Viper because Winter damn sure wasn’t going to share. Let me tell you, those men could fuck for hours, so losing them was a big fucking deal. Knox has skill no one else has and we’re not giving him up.” She put her hands on the table, leaning toward Diamond. “Take Train he’s pretty good, or better yet, take Cash; he never shares his bed. I’m even willing to sacrifice Rider, and let me tell you that will be taking a big hit, if you know what I mean, but you can’t have Knox. He’s a fucking sex machine. There’s no way you can satisfy him by yourself. Actually, we’ll be doing you a favor.” Jewell nodded her head. “You can have him during the days and we’ll take care of him during the nights. Plus, you can have Sundays.”
