Blog Tour: Ink My Heart (Luminescent Juliet #2) by Jean Haus ~ Review & Giveaway!

Even if he weren’t the lead singer of the popular college band, Luminescent Juliet, Justin Noel would have his pick of women. And he does pick. Nightly. Tattooed, blonde, and green eyed, he flashes his dimples and females swoon.
Except for one.

Tattoo artist, Allie Landon, rarely dates, and especially not men like Justin. Though he’s hot enough to melt off permanent ink, she’s done with the bad boy type. But when the ex who broke her heart wants to reunite, desperation has Allie introducing her latest client as her boyfriend. Justin’s more than happy to play the part. He’s completely intrigued by the sexy artist and college student.

However, Allie’s life isn’t what it seems. There’s little room in it or her shattered and confused heart for Justin. But as Justin remains persistent, ignoring the growing attraction—both physical and emotionally—between them becomes more difficult than tattoo removal.

*New Adult. Recommended for mature readers due to language, drug references, and sexual situations.

Age Group: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance

The sting of the needle and the bold statement of the ink on my skin has become addicting.

I can honestly say that this book was not what I expected! I guess I expected cocky bad boy rocker trying to tame the hard nosed tattoo artist and really it wasn't that at all, it was soooo much more!

Even though Justin was a hottie, tattooed, bad boy rocker, I could tell from the moment he met Allie that she was going to be it for him. He wasn't cocky and mean he was just very, very persistent and he fell hard, fast!

Allie did too, but was more reluctant to take a chance with her heart on known bad boy Justin. She has way to much on her plate to risk her heart on a one night stand, no matter how smokin' hot he is! So Allie reluctantly agrees to design and ink a fantastic tattoo on Justin's back, now if she can just get though the tattoo sessions without doing anything foolish.(Yeah, good luck with that!)

Justin and Allie work hard at getting it together with some real obstacles but you can't help but totally root for them and their HEA! Justin is a super sweetheart and Allie is a wonderful girl who has lived way to much for her 21 years and deserves some real happiness.

Love isn't fear. It's courage. Courage to trust, courage to give, courage to fight.

I simply adored this book and this couple. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the band. By this I mean the way the band members interact with each other. They almost behave as though they can't stand each other. I found it kind of strange, but that is my only real complaint, everything else about this story was wonderful!!

Blog Tour: Late Night with Andres by Debra Anastasia ~ Guest Post, Review, Giveaway!

Sweet Spot Book Blog is delighted to be a part of this tour.

~ GUEST POST ~

I want to thank Grace for having me here on the Sweet Spot Book Blog! She wanted to know what inspired Omnific Publishing and I to donate the proceeds of Late Night With Andres to help fight breast cancer --if there was particular story? And the truth is, there are too many stories.

I feel like we all know someone who has fought cancer at this point. I really thought by the time I got to be this age, there would be a vaccine. I’m actually stunned we haven’t found it yet: the cure to cancer.

I wish we had. There are so many dear, sweet faces that are missed because this puzzle has not been solved. I’m not smart enough to help with the science of it. I’m lucky if I figure out where my phone is while I’m talking to my mother on it.

It’s my hope that the funds generated from Late Night with Andres can help somehow. Seems too small, doesn’t it? I feel like if this were something we could battle with our fists, we would all stand shoulder to shoulder until we had it on the ropes.

Both my parents have been treated recently for cancer, and my in-laws lost their four year old son to the disease in 1974. Just recently a young mom we know lost her battle with breast cancer, leaving behind two toddlers. It’s too much. Too many.

And I know if you’re reading this, you’ve got someone in your heart you’re concerned for. Your kids? Your friends? If you can’t provide the science to fix this, all we can do is support those that can.

I have a reader—and she knows who she is—who is undergoing chemotherapy now. Her smile is amazing. So full, so ready to fight and laugh.

You feel helpless, right? It’s hard when all you can do is pray, all you can do is make a meal and drop it off for the family. I feel like we should all be making noise or pointing and stomping until cancer is history—just one of the vaccines that become routine for babies, just an initial on the paperwork.

I’ve got this story, this silly, slightly scary story, and it’s probably not even the right one to offer as help. I mean, it has a character named Fart. Who does that?

But I do hope it helps, and I do hope it puts money in the hands that can solve the mystery for us. Our kids need it. We need a cure.

Thank you, Debra, for a lovely post!

Rising-star blogger Milla Kierce knows she's arrived when she sees the swag basket in her dressing room on the night of her late-night television debut. But before she can bite into the muffin that symbolizes her success, gunfire echoes through the TV studio. She's just hidden herself (mostly in plain sight) when the door flings open. Instead of a gunman, there stands one of the world's most popular rock stars, Gage Daxson, looking for his own way out of danger.

Thrown together, they'll battle a venomous man seeking revenge and his own sexual pleasure, but they may never leave the building again. Distracted by fear, fame, and infamy, can these two somehow find their way to each other?

Equal parts horrifying and hilarious, Debra Anastasia's Late Night With Andres offers more than a few twists and turns—and, of course, enough heat to keep things interesting.

Release Date: October 29, 2013

Four Stars

Late Night with Andres is purely an entertaining, laugh-out-loud novella! Milla Kierce is thrilled to be a guest for the show Late Night with Andres, but shortly after arriving gunfire breaks out through the studio. What happens next includes a hostage situation involving Milla, rock star Gage Daxson and the crazed gunman, appropriately nicknamed Devil's Fart, who is several shades of disgusting. Then there is the ruthless show host, Andres, who will do anything for high ratings. Oh boy!

I think the book summary hits it in the nail describing Late Night with Andres as “horrifying and hilarious”. It has a great blend of shock, foul language (beep-beep-beep-beeeeeep!) nail-biting suspense and sweet romance that is perfect for this couple. I had to keep reading to see how things ended up for Milla and Gage.

If you're a fan of Debra Anastasia and follow her on social media, you will likely recognize the type of humor in this story. Seriously, find a comfy place to read and go into this with an open mind and be ready to shake your head, laugh and have the urge to tweet something with the hashtag: #WTFTheDevilsFart.

Ms. Anastasia also has a huge, gigantic heart since 100% of the proceeds from this novella will be donated to help fight breast cancer. Cancer truly sucks!

Memorable quotes (these are the clean ones, LOL!):

And then he was all over her. His hands, his lips. He pushed her against the wall and became her boyfriend and semi-gynecologist with a few masterful moves.”

Dude, this is like the third time we've wrestled a man with no pants. What's up with that?”

The Devil's Fart started screaming through his nose. He sounded like a human sized tea kettle. Like Mrs. Potts on her period.”

 ~ About the Author ~
Debra Anastasia grew up in New York and got a bachelor's degree in political science at SUNY New Paltz. At the start of her marriage, she moved to southern Maryland with her husband. She still doesn't trust crabs and all their legs, though everyone else in her family thinks they're delicious. Her favorite hobbies include knitting, painting furniture and wall murals, and slapping clowns.
Her writing started a decent handful of years ago when along with the dogs, cat, kids, and husband, the voices of characters started whispering stories in Debra's ear. Insomnia was the gateway for the plots that wouldn't give up, wouldn't let go. In the shower, a twist would take hold and--dripping and frenzied--she'd find somewhere, anywhere to write it down.

Can't Go Home (Oasis Waterfall #1) by Angelisa Stone

Everyone has secrets; secrets meant to be kept—hidden away where nobody can discover the truth. Adrian O’Donnell (aka: Dre Donley) is no exception. Dre spins tales and half-truths like it’s his job, keeping the reality of his past buried deep within each lie he fabricates. On the other hand, Kathryn Howell is the exception to the rule. She’s a straight-shooter, a tell-it-like-it-is, no filter kind of girl.

Kathryn’s honesty and straightforwardness is the ultimate turn on for a guy like Dre. He’s never met someone so sincere, so full of truth and innocence. Their chemistry is unavoidable, their connection, magnetic. When Dre sets out to make Kathryn fall for him, he doesn’t realize the grave mistake he’s making. Kathryn’s strength and convictions do not falter, even for an irresistible man like Dre. When his past resurfaces, and the lies come tumbling forth, Kathryn must decide if his deceit and betrayal can be forgiven or if the damage is irreparable. Will the truth ultimately destroy the relationship that neither one of them could deny or even attempt to resist?

This novel is for mature readers only, due to language and sexual content.
4.5 Stars

She rocks back against me; I’m soaring, growing, grinding, and yearning. This is everything. She is everything. I can feel my need for deep within my body, my soul. This is right. It’s perfect.
I’m smiling like a loon. I would’ve finished this book earlier, but I wanted to savor the opportunity to finish it on my day off so I can just feel euphoric for a little while longer. This book had tons of things I love in my romance stories: A gorgeous, possessive Hero, lots of banter, which of course leads to some serious sexual tension….and when it finally bursts…ahhh…I’m in pure heavenly bliss.

Dre’s look is polished, but messy; perfect, but flawed.

The beginning of the book immediately grabbed me. How could it not when we were immediately inside our Hero’s mind; and what a mind it is. I LOVE stories with duel POVs.

Dre notices Kathryn, our spunky heroine, almost immediately. She’s not usually the typical girl Dre goes for who are normally tall, blonde, and easily accessible. Dre notices little things about her that captures his interest. He’s instantaneously smitten and wants nothing more than to get to know her.

“The fact that you even recognize that there are parts of you that want to change makes you worthy of your own reflection. You can look in that mirror, Dre. Seriously, you’ll probably be proud of who you see. I know I’m starting to like what I see”

I loved Kathryn’s character. I loved her spirit, her honesty and just…her. She’s incredibly smart and not afraid to speak her mind. I loved how she doesn’t instantly fall for Dre’s full-proof-panty-dropping smile or antics. She knows guys like Dre don’t normally go for girls like her, so why is he even bothering? But don’t let her strong façade fool you, she definitely lusts after him. Its just a matter of time, really.

I’m not going to lie; I like the complexity and mystery that he brings to the table. However, he scares me, because this feels like the calm before the storm, the bliss before the heartache.

Watching Dre & Kathryn’s relationship blossom was so sweet to read. I love Dre. He didn’t know what hit him when he began his pursuit of her. However, no matter how much he wanted to, he really couldn’t let all his walls down. You see, Dre is hiding a huge secret, one that could threaten his new relationship with Kathryn. Once she finds out all his secrets, will she be strong enough to stay?

I use to think that I couldn’t go home, but the truth is, I can go anywhere as long as I have happiness and love. But geez, was that a hard lesson to learn.

This story was such a joy to read. The writing was phenomenal. The story was delivered flawlessly and I really connected with all the primary and secondary characters. As Dre’s secrets start to unravel, I couldn’t help but be moved by his strength and determination to move forward. And when Kathryn finally finds out, she remains steadfast at his side. I just LOVED their connection and just loved this book! I cannot wait to see what this author writes next.

Excerpt & Dexisms

I am so, so sorry, Perry. I will do everything I can to not let that happen to you.”

You already have,” I admitted. “I wouldn’t have made it back here if it wasn’t for you.”

Roman almost had you. He was so close. But I think he was too afraid of making the same mistakes he did with the boy. The one who died. He should have been able to free you himself. I had to do something.”

I guess I have to save your life at some point now,” I said. “To make things even.”

Perry,” he said quietly, his fingers trailing down the side of my face, “you’ll never have to save my life. You gave me life. I never lived a single day until the day I first met you.”

Then he smiled warmly at me. It had all the grace and heart in the world.
