Kate Danley's debut novel, The Woodcutter (published by 47North), was honored with the Garcia Award for the Best Fiction Book of the Year, the 1st Place Fantasy Book in the Reader Views Literary Awards, and the winner of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy category in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Holy Hell! A super steamy introduction to Laura and Javier!

First Strike is a tantalizing prequel to Striking Distance. This is a very short story that introduces the characters of Laura and Javier and sets the stage for the next full-length book in the I-Team series.

Straight to the point, Laura and Javier meet at a bar in Dubai. Their attraction for each other is pretty instantaneous, and it becomes obvious that they both want a “no-strings attached” hook-up. What's the problem? Well, they're in the city of Dubai where unmarried sex is illegal. If caught, they could get into serious trouble. Nevertheless, these two find a way to spend one very hot evening together, which then turns into one scorching weekend!!!

Pamela Clare continues to create couples who are so passionately drawn to each other. First Strike is primarily an erotic-romance short story with a splash of enticing suspense. This can be read as a standalone. You don't need to have read the other books to enjoy this super steamy novella, although you might want to afterward if you've never read anything from this amazing romantic suspense series!

Yes, this story ends in a huge cliffhanger with no HEA! Ms. Clare tells you that right away in the author's note. Boy, does she leave you hanging in spectacular fashion and longing for the next book right away! I can sense Ms. Clare leading her readers down a dark road covering a serious and intense subject matter. I am intrigued, sort of frightened and excited for Striking Distance. My heart is pumping! I'm ready for more Laura and Javier! Bring it on!!!

I have been a Pamela Clare fan for quite some time - but there is a special place in my heart for the I-Team!! Every one is better than the last and I'm not sure how since they are all SPECTACULAR!!

That said, even though this book was a mere 70 some pages, HOLY CRAP was it HOT!!

This is simply the prequel to Striking Distance, which comes out in a couple of weeks(THANK GOD!), but it's so steamy you may need some assistance when you finish it, if you know what I mean! *wink*

This book is all about the weekend that Javier and Laura meet. A weekend that is supposed to be simply sex and fun and nothing else, but we all know what happens when that declaration is made?? Oops, we kinda fell in love! :)

Now, you are warned at the beginning that this story has a cliffhanger, obviously because it is the beginning to the actual fill length story but even though you were warned you will be so wrapped up in the emotions in the story that you will forget, I swear, until that's it! The End. And you are left begging to know WHAT NEXT!??

No worries, Ms. Clare is not a cruel person and we only have to wait a couple of weeks to be back together with Javier and Laura and the rest of the I-Team we all love so much!!!

Music, romance and a yummy British sweet talker!

I knew the moment when I read the synopsis for this book that I had to read it. Far Too Tempting was my first time reading anything from the lovely Lauren Blakely, and I am thoroughly impressed!

I found Blakely to write incredibly likeable characters. Jane is a rock star who hit success big time with her breakup album. She's also under a lot of pressure to write her next album. When Matthew Harrigan enters the picture wanting to write a story on Jane, oh boy! This British, dark-haired, blue-eyed music critic is such a sweet talker right from the start. As Jane and Matthew spend time together, her shredded heart begins to heal. On one hand that is good, but on the other hand her creative juices just aren't flowing leaving her with an extreme case of writer's block.

I truly enjoyed every single page of this romantic comedy. Yes, Jane is a rock star, but she's written to be so down-to-earth. You get to see her being a mother to her adorable, young son. You get to see her interact a lot with her family and friends. You also get to see her struggle to move on with her life and learn to trust again. I adored her inner dialogue and how she gets inspired to write music. In the beginning, Matthew is a little relentless seeking out Jane's attention, but he does it in such a smooth way. Both Jane and Matthew are two passionate people. Their emails to each other made me grin. Their banter was often playful and flirty. I just loved them together!

Set against a New York City backdrop, Far Too Tempting is overall fun and romantic. If you like reads with musicians and sexy British guys, then definitely check this one out. Also, Matthew loves to read! What is it about men who love to read? Reading is sexy, you know!!!

Life is wild. 

I am a huge fan of this author. Her Signs of Love series is one of my favorites. So when I came across this newest installment, I dropped what I was reading and immediately picked this up. This was another one of Ms. Sheridan’s couldn’t put it down books. I LOVED the uniqueness of this story, especially the Hero. His occupation was definitely a reason why I picked it up. 

“I was practically born to do it, babe. Created in lust and sin. Destined to do the same.” 

Carson Stinger is a porn star; a Straight Male Performer as his nametag indicates. Yes, ladies, you heard me: A bonafied porn star. **smirks** This is the second book I’ve read that featured such a Hero. Yea. NO COMPLAINTS! I love a Hero who knows their way around. 

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

When Grace first meets Carson, it was in the Sin City of Vegas. Grace is a law student, in town to attend a convention. She’s pretty straight laced, has her life planned out, without any plans to deviate from that plan. Then she runs into Carson. It’s pretty safe to say that these two butted heads the first time they meet, but the instant chemistry was undeniable. It wasn’t until they were fatefully trapped together in an elevator where things get really interesting, and unbelievably HOT. 

After they were rescued from the elevator, they do exactly what comes next. Grace & Carson are explosive in the bedroom, and one night together isn’t enough. So the two decide to spend the rest of their weekend in Vegas together. 

“Why do you call me Buttercup?” 

They were in their own bubble. Worries about what happens after Vegas were always on their minds, but they were determined to spend the rest of their weekend together. But as their weekend progresses, their connection grows stronger. So what happens after Vegas? Not only does a continent divide them, but Carson isn’t really in a position to drop everything and incorporate himself into Grace’s life. A life in the adult industry is all he knows. What can he possibly offer a woman like Grace?

Sometimes, you don’t even realize anything is wrong until someone comes along and changes you, and makes you want more. 

They ultimately decide to part ways, but neither can ever get over the connection they shared. Little did they know that that weekend they shared changed their lives forever, especially Carson’s. After returning, he can no longer go back to his career. However, with limited options, he decides to join the Navy and strives to become a SEAL. As for Grace, she decides to follow her dreams and change her specialty into becoming a Prosecutor. Years pass, their lives change, but ultimately fate steps in and they’re back in Sin City once again when they reunite. Are the sparks still there? Fuck yea it is, and what happens next is just as good as the beginning. 

“Love doesn’t always make sense. And that’s the great beauty of it, the great mystery – the thing cynics who scoff at so-called ‘insta-love’ would bottle if they could. 

I really enjoyed this story. Lots of reviews I’ve read complained about Grace’s character, but honestly, I didn’t mind her at all. Normally women as stubborn as her makes my palms twitch, but I actually liked her character. As for Carson…well fuck, I just loved him. I find it so romantic that he changed his life because of Grace. His bad-ass SEAL persona didn’t hurt either. No worries, this is a stand-alone and reading the prior two of the series is not required. Ms. Sheridan is definitely a go-to author for me and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
