The Tied Man by Tabitha McGowan

Title: The Tied Man
Author: Tabitha McGowan
Series: The Tied Man #1
Release Date: January 5, 2013

Synopsis:
Lilith Bresson, an independent, successful young artist, is forced to travel from her home in Spain to the wild borderlands of northern England, to repay her feckless father’s latest debt by painting a portrait of the enigmatic Lady Blaine Albermarle.

On her first night at Albermarle Hall she meets Finn Strachan, Blaine’s ‘companion’, a cultured and hauntingly beautiful young man who seems to have it all. But Lilith has an artist’s eye, and a gift for seeing what lies beneath the skin. She soon discovers that Blaine is more gaoler than lover, and if the price is right, depravity has no limits.

As the weeks pass, Lilith finds that she too is drawn into the malign web that her patron has spun, yet against the odds she forges a strong friendship with the damaged, dysfunctional Finn. In a dark, modern twist to an age-old story, Lilith Bresson proves that sometimes it’s the princess who needs to become the rescuer.

Please note that this storyline contains depictions of drug abuse, violence and non-consensual sexual activity.

This Story Was Amazingly Breathtaking!!

Honest to God, there were times I actually had to remind myself to breath! Those of you that know me know that I don't have a problem with so called 'dark stories' or 'dark erotica' - well I'm not sure I could classify this as anything but DARK...Period!

Wow! I mean really, just Wow!!

I absolutely loved Lilith, she was a feisty chick with a filthy mouth and didn't take any shit from anyone! When her no good, piece of shit father all but blackmails her to do a portrait commissioned by Lady Blaire Albermarle, she has absolutely no idea the hell she is walking into.

When she arrives on the island, she already doesn't want to be there and has a really bad feeling about the place and this is all before she meets Finn Strachan. The most beautiful man she has ever laid eyes on who appears to be Blaire's companion, however, things are not at all as they seem! Finn is basically a slave to Blaire,a sex slave, and anyone she wishes to loan him to for the right price, to do unspeakable things to!

I can not stress enough how much this book is NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!! There were literally parts where I didn't realize I was crying until I couldn't see through my tears. The horrors that the human race is capable of is beyond my imagination!

“It was easy to forget that other people lived in a world where rules and laws and common sense could keep you safe. A world where, if you did the right thing you were allowed to get on with your life in whichever way you chose.”

Through the horrors Lilith is put through and exposed to in her stay on the island, which quickly becomes a prison for her, she bonds with Finn and they begin to fall in love. Although this seems to have been Blaire's sadistic plan all along, to find new ways to fuck with both of them. They turn to each other, over and over, even when Finn tries to push her away for her own good!

All of that said, this was one of the most fantastic stories of survival, love, and eventually revenge(oh yeah, there is a HEA, for the most part,) Oh yeah! The ending is VERY satisfying!!

There is a book two coming but I can assure you that you can read this book as a stand alone and end feeling satisfied. Well, maybe satisfied is not the right word...Because a major portion of the book will appall you, but if you have the stomach for a dark story like this I promise you will not be disappointed. It was so good I am still dreaming about the characters days later, I can't them out of my head. To me, that is the mark of a great story!!
