Congratulations to Marina Adair on her latest book release!

Marina Adair's
Top 5 favorite "Southern" things
#5. The food. Everything is smoked, BBQ, fried, or coated in gravy—including most vegetables, except mac-and-cheese. Yup, only in the South is that cheese goodness considered a vegetable on most restaurant menus.

#4. Grannies. Having grown up with two I can attest that Southern grannies rule. My Grandma Stowell made the best buttermilk biscuits on the planet, knew how to hug you until the world felt safe, understood the importance of masterful storytelling, and always put the fear of God in you with phrases like, “Honey, you’re going to split hell wide open and fall in with that kind of lie.”

#3. Can we talk biscuits? I know food already made an appearance on list, and we have mentioned biscuits, but when made right, these beautiful, fluffy little slices of heaven can be life altering. Add a little honey or homemade bumble berry jam and it is a religious experience.

#2. Country Music. All I need to say is, Eric Church’s Love you Like Wrecking Ball. Listen to that song and try not to swoon, I dare you.

#1. Southern Gents. Oh, ladies, there is nothing sexier than a sweet talking, down-home southern man in shit kickers and worn jeans who flattens his vowels when he speaks, know how to treat a lady, and doesn’t hesitate to go after what he wants.

Thank you, Marina, for stopping by! Y'all need to listen to that Eric Church song, because it will make you swoon! ~Grace

SUGAR'S TWICE AS SWEET by Marina Adair
(November 25, 2014; Forever Mass Market; $6.00)

He's trouble she doesn't need . . .

Thanks to a cheating fiancé, Josephina Harrington's perfect life just crashed and burned. Moving in with her overbearing parents is definitely not an option. No, she needs to prove she can make it on her own. And she will-by turning her great-aunt's old plantation house into a destination getaway. She's just not expecting her contractor to be so hands-on-and so totally irresistible.

. . . but everything she wants

Bad-boy golf champion Brett McGraw figured his hometown of Sugar, Georgia was the perfect place to lay low and get his life back up to par. The leggy blonde with a pint-sized pup is the kind of sweet 'n sassy trouble he never saw coming. She doesn't know a nut from a bolt and before long, he's renovating her house . . . as she steals his heart. Can he convince Josephina that his womanizing ways are in the past and he's ready for forever?

Excerpt
Three days later, Josephina shoved the last scrap of wallpaper into the trash bag and knew it was quitting time. Her arms were sore from scraping off glue, which was littering the wood floor, she had a big bruise on her forehead from running into Brett’s elbow—and sharing breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a man who made her motor hum only added to her aches.
True to his word, he had asked her out every day. And every day it became harder to say no.
Today had been the worst, she thought as she watched the play of Brett’s muscles while he supported a plank of rotted wood over his head. He was all rippled and gorgeous and flashing that orgasm-inducing smile. The one that curled up slightly at the corners, saying he’d caught her drooling. Again.
“A simple yes is all it would take,” he said in that southern-boy way that made her heart warm. Along with some other, more pertinent, parts.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” She stepped sideways, right into a bowl of nails, knocking them over. Then, blaming Brett for taking up too much damn space, she picked up the handsaw off the floor and reached into her back pocket for a pair of gloves—coming up empty.
“I’ve got an extra pair in my tool belt,” he said with humor in his voice as he jerked his chin toward his goodie bag, um, tool belt. “Right there in the center pocket. You see them?”
Oh, she saw them all right. She also saw how incredibly amused he was.
“Don’t move.” Eyeing him, she cautiously reached into the pocket, careful not to touch any of his tools. She grabbed the leather gloves and jerked her hand back.
Doing her best to ignore his laughing, she crawled up to the fifth rung of the ladder and sawed away the remaining few inches of beam. Between the sexy smiles and “accidental” brushing of bodies, Brett kept her in a constant state of unbalance.
“So to clarify, you’re saying you don’t want to go out with me,” he mused.
She sighed, sawing through the end of the beam and wondering why she kept repeating herself. “Dating wouldn’t be a good idea.”
“Why is that?” he asked, lowering the beam to the floor.
This time she was certain he was flexing his arms on purpose.
“Because we’d go out, have a good time, come home, and have sex. Only instead of just amazing no-strings sex it would be complicated by all this other stuff, which would make things weird. Eventually I’d be short one contractor, miss my opening date, and wonder what happened.”
Not wanting to look at him, she set the saw on the top of the ladder, ready to move to the next spot.
“First off, I’m in this for the long haul, I gave you my word on that.”
Josephina turned around to ask him if he was talking about the inn, but then she forgot how to speak. Brett blocked her descent, climbing up behind her to the second rung, which brought him eye level. He gripped her hips and backed her up against the ladder. “And, sugar, sex between us wouldn’t be amazing, it would be earth-shattering.”
That’s what I’m afraid of.
He sculpted his hands down her sides to her thighs, paying extra attention to her bottom on the trip back. She rested her hands on those biceps she’d been watching all week so she wouldn’t fall over as the air whooshed out of her lungs.
Hell, she’d suffered from severe oxygen deprivation since the minute she found him this morning, standing on the front porch, latte in one hand, a cheese Danish in the other, and the sun cresting behind him.
The man redefined “sexy contractor.” The faded college T-shirt clung to his impressive chest. And the hotter it got, the clingier the material became. Which was why four o’clock was Josephina’s new favorite time of day. It was when Brett shucked his shirt. And the tool belt he wore weighed down his jeans, giving her a prime view of chiseled abs and lean hips, and highlighting his yummy parts.
And that wasn’t even the most tempting part. Nope. The more she saw Brett as a normal hot guy, the more the never-going-to-date-him rule seemed to blur, and the harder he became to resist.
“I suck at relationships,” she rushed out, more for her than him. “I get so lost in the other person that Josephina goes MIA. I can’t do that again. Not now when people are counting on me. When I’m counting on me.”
“It’s just a date, Joie. I’m not down on one knee.” He sounded so sincere her heart pounded as if he were.
“Date implies the start of something, and you’re leaving.” And if I let you, you might take my heart with you when you go. “And I’m staying here, in Sugar.”
With a single nod, Brett let her slide past him on the ladder.

He wasn’t giving up, not by a long shot, she could see that in his eyes. But he was letting it go—for now.

The “Darling” DeLuca + one “Hard Hammer”
I'm back for more St. Helena Vineyard! I have been excitedly waiting for Abby's story. She is the “darling” of the DeLuca family. Throughout the series we get pieces of her story, but in this book she's now single. It's her time to shine on her own...only if her brothers will let her. Yep, her four brothers have only the best intentions when it comes to Abby; however, their butting-in can be a real pain.
One of my favorite things about Abby is that she's fiercely independent and wants so much to succeed on her own, especially when a golden opportunity comes a knocking. Jack “Hard Hammer” Tanner wants to see Abby succeed so bad. They have a long history together, and despite the amazing, highly unresolved tension constantly simmering between them, Abby keeps Tanner pretty much at arms-length away. He's not sure how much longer he can wait for Abby to give him another chance. Honestly, I don't know how she can resist him. Jack holds a Super Bowl ring, still chiseled in all the right places, and he's also got a nice...tool belt! Oh, yes, indeed!
I've been an avid fan of this series from the start. I just adore Marina Adair's writing and love being swept away to St. Helena Vineyard every time a new book in the series comes out. The story not only explores two soul-mates finally recognizing what was there all along, but also it's about a father and son coming to an understanding. I've always enjoyed how Ms. Adair inserts humor into her stories. I've come to appreciate and expect the shenanigans of the three grandmothers. The newer characters are tied well into the plot and provide a little hilarity, as well as, realness and heart to the story. For me, From the Moment We Met was just the perfect story for both Abby and Tanner. I can't wait for more!

 Gotta love the DeLuca clan!

Marina Adair has made me fall in love with another St. Helena Vineyard book and another DeLuca brother! This time around the story focuses on Trey DeLuca, the youngest brother. Trey is a love-em-and-leave-em kind of guy. He doesn't make commitments with anyone, since he's always jetting off somewhere as VP of sales for the family business. So when family stuff keeps him in St. Helena for a few weeks, he reluctantly rolls up his sleeves and chips in where he's needed. Plus, he just can't say no to his grandmother, who wants him to escort her to the Winter Garden Gala. Before the big event happens, he'll need to take ballroom lessons from Sara Reed, the newest, hot, little dance instructor in town.

Opening up her dance studio in St. Helena was a fresh, new start for single-mom Sara. Trying to be all that her young son, Cooper, needs and her dedication to the dance studio stretches her schedule pretty thin. The attraction she has for Trey is sending her all sorts of red flags, too. She wants love in her life, but she wants something forever, is that too much to ask?

I loved, loved, loved Be Mine Forever! Marina Adair continues to stir up some small-town fun with the three grandmothers and heartwarming romance with the latest pairing. My heart tugged at Sara's back story, and I just adored her young son who pretty much steals the story with his unbelievable cuteness! I enjoyed seeing all of the recurring secondary characters again. Really, it feels like coming home to something familiar. How everyone is included into the plot is just lovely. How the brothers and their significant others seem to know exactly what to say is one of the reasons why the St. Helena Vineyard series is one of my favorites! The side story with Trey's grandmother, Chi Chi, made me smile big. As for Trey and Sara, well their story is pretty touching and awesome that I teared up a bit. Be Mine Forever is more than just a Valentine's Day romance, it's one of those stories that will squeeze your heart any time of year.

Interview

What do you think readers will like about the main couple, Frankie and Nate?
First, thanks for having me here today!
As for Frankie and Nate, I think what made them so much fun to write is that this isn’t just an opposites attract story, they also have a secret and heated past, which allows for so much steamy conflict.
The heart of Frankie’s struggle is that she has experienced enough betrayal and disappointment in her lifetime to understand that it is just easier to go it alone. The idea of leaning on someone—especially a man—is terrifying. And I knew that the only way to get her to give into the chemistry and give Nate a chance to earn her trust was to force them to share space, because it’s hard to hide the real you from someone who shares your shower. So if Frankie wants to save her vineyard, she has to cohabitate with the one guy who broke her heart and her trust.

What was your favorite scene to write in this book?
Most women are scared of spiders or burglars or things that go bump in the night… not Frankie. Nope, she is terrified of babies. So I had to write a scene where she is forced to face her biggest fear, so of course I made Baby Sophie a fussy, screaming, poop-machine who, like most vicious predators, can sense fear on their enemy. And. no brainer, her awkward moment had to be witnessed by Nate, St. Helena’s most perfect human being.
What made this scene my favorite is the way Nate is there for her, and how Frankie, for the first time in years, allows herself to be vulnerable to the man who, at one time, had crushed her world. That was the turning point in the book for me, the moment where I really knew who they were and how their story was going to play out.

Can you share with us a little of what you're currently working on?
I just finished the final edits on Book #4 in the St. Helena Vineyard series, BE MINE FOREVER, which comes out January 21, 2014 and follows the baby of the family, Trey DeLuca. After watching each of his brothers trade in their man-card for a minivan, Trey develops a severe allergic reaction to commitment, compromise, and kids. So of course I paired him up with the sexy single-mom next door who isn’t in the market for a man—so much as a Manny to watch her son. It was fun to witness the commitment-phobe playboy fall hard, especially when the woman he is falling for comes stock-ready with a kid, white picket fence, and a life that screams commitment.

I am also in the middle of writing Book #5, FROM THE MOMENT WE MET, which releases Summer 2014 and follows the only sister of the family. Abby DeLuca and Jack Tanner’s story will wrap up the DeLuca siblings, but don’t worry, the St. Helena Vineyard series isn’t over. Frankie Baudoiun has three sexy, older brothers who all have stories coming out in 2015 … so stay tuned.

Sweet or Savory?
Oh easy, sweet!

Read anything good lately?
Finding the time to read has been difficult lately, but I did just buy Long Shot by Hanna Martine. I'm only a few chapters in, but I am loving it!

Thank you, Marina Adair, for chatting with us today about your latest St. Helena Vineyard release! It was a pleasure having you!

Frankie Baudouin has a hundred reasons not to trust Nate DeLuca. First, he’s a DeLuca. Second, he kissed her—in front of the entire town—and then never called. Oh, and he’s after her land. Sorrento Ranch is Frankie’s last chance to prove to her family—and to herself—that she has what it takes to be an award-winning winemaker. And she will stop at nothing to ensure her success—even if it means playing nice with the starched, sophisticated, and oh-so-sexy Italian.

For Nate, Sorrento Ranch is more than just soil and grape vines; it was his father’s dream—a dream Nate is determined to make a reality. So when he finds himself forced to cohabitate with a hot-headed, irrational, and incredibly gorgeous Baudouin, Nate is surprised to discover that chaos could be so much fun—especially when she sleeps in nothing but lace.

4.5 - 5 Stars

Marina Adair returns with another great pairing! The third book in the St. Helena Vineyard series showcases two long-time bitter rivals, a family feud and lots of tension and romance! Oh, and the most adorable alpaca named Mittens!

Disowned by her grandfather, Francesca “Frankie” Baudouin takes all that she has and buys one of the most sought after properties in wine country, Sorrento Ranch. She has big dreams for her winery! The only problem is that her long-time rival, Nate DeLuca, bought the same property too. Uh-oh! Tensions flare and heads butt as the two are forced to make things work.

Can I just say that I adored this story and love this couple?! Ms. Adair continues to pair the DeLuca brothers with strong female leads. Frankie is stubborn and has a mean temper, but she's also loyal to the bone, a risk-taker and has this unbelievable drive to prove that she can succeed on her own. She also wears leather and gets around on a motorcycle, which I think Nate finds sexy. Frankie and Nate have known each other since they were little growing up in the same town. Both come from well-respected families with a long history in St. Helena. Nate is one charming and hard-working winemaker! I just loved how he notices the little things about Frankie that no one else does and makes her see things in a different perspective. He completely gets her. I think it's cute that he likes to shut her up with kisses! Awww!

Ms. Adair seems to highlight some sort of local competition in each St. Helena Vineyard book. This time it's the annual Cork Crawl. The way she writes about the townspeople gearing up for annual events is fun, festive and fits well with the plot. It never ceases to amaze me that every time I read a book in this series, I have this urge to visit wine country again and again.

A smart, sexy, tension-filled romance story that will make you laugh, cry and perhaps pop open that bottle of Syrah you've been saving. Salute!
