Five Stars

Absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!!! Loved Ridge, Loved Sydney, Loved Maggie and even Loved Warren & Bridgette!!!

I can't even begin to tell you how much I totally adored this story!! Another massive hit by Ms. Hoover! And OMG, when you accompany this amazing book with the fantastic soundtrack by the gorgeous Griffin Peterson you have a crazy-good winning combination!! Seriously, I finished this book days ago and I can't stop thinking about Ridge & Sydney and I am totally hooked on the music - been listening to it pretty much non stop!!

Our story opens with Sydney Blake having just found out that her boyfriend of 2 years and her best friend were sleeping together. Sydney has been sitting on her balcony for weeks listening to the boy across the courtyard play his guitar, they strike up a texting friendship when he asks her to give him lyrics, since he is suffering major writers block.

Ridge Lawson has known for awhile that the pretty girl across the courtyard has a shitty boyfriend who is cheating on her regular with her roommate and best friend. When they develop enough of a friendship that he feels like he should tell her, that's where we find the two wonderful people at the beginning of the story. Ridge offers Sydney a place to stay and they continue to write together, she has become his muse and he needs her.

They of course begin to fall for each other but Ridge has a girlfriend and Sydney likes her and she refuses to become like her ex best friend. Ridge also loves Maggie very much, but can't deny he is falling in love with Sydney too, so they fight it. I mean they fight it with all they have! But we all know that true love prevails, right. But OMG, what do you do when you love all three players in the love triangle??

This book absolutely made me ugly cry but I LOVED EVERY MINUTE!! But you absolutely CANNOT read this book with out the accompanying soundtrack!! It makes this amazing book even more amazing!!

Thank you to Colleen Hoover and Griffin Peterson for a story and the music to go with that I can't get out of my head over a week later!!!

Finding Cinderella (Hopeless #2.5) by Colleen Hoover

This novella is a companion novel to the Hopeless series, but can be read as a standalone.

A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love comes with conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Daniel soon realizes the way he pretended to feel about Cinderella and the way he really feels about Six may not be so different after all. Especially when the two loves of his life end up being one in the same.

Unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.
I only have one complaint about this book....

IT WASN'T LONG ENOUGH!!! I WANT MORE DANIEL & SIX!!!!

I want to tell you all how much I FREAKING LOVED THIS STORY!!!

This was a wonderful story from beginning to end, an end I didn't want to ever happen!! We got to know a little tiny bit about Daniel and Six in Hopeless and I didn't really give either of them a whole lot of thought. Silly me, because there story was fantastic!! I liked them both well enough but you are so wrapped up in Holder and Skye that you never give a second thought to these secondary characters.

For as short as this story was there was even a shocker 'Holy Shit' moment in there. Which I loved, btw! Along with some heartwarmingly sweet moments and some tears!

I don't want to give anything in this sweet little story away so I will only say that if you have read Hopeless and Losing Hope than Finding Cinderella is a MUST!!

Hell, anything Colleen Hoover writes is a MUST, but you get my drift!!

Hopeless (Hopeless #1) by Colleen Hoover

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He

terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.
FIVE BUTTERFLYINGLY BEAUTIFUL STARS!!!

“I want to tell you exactly how I feel but there isn’t a single goddamned word in the entire dictionary that can describe this point between liking you and lovingyou, but I need that word. I need it because I need you to hear me say it.” …
“Live. If you mix the letters up in the words like and love, you get live. You can use that word.”
He laughs again, but this time it’s a laugh of relief. He wraps his arms around me and he kisses me with nothing but a hell of a lot of relief. “I live you, Sky,” he says against my lips. “I live you so much.”

I have a huge freaking grin on my face.
Like.
HUGE.

Colleen Hoover is a writing genius. I don’t know how she does it. Time and time again, she has the ability to weave an unbelievable story. I was blown away with Slammed and Point of Return, but this newest creation she has written has left me just speechless. I’m in utter awe at her talent for writing a beautiful story. Oh. My. God. I just don’t know what to say. This story was just butterflyingly beautiful. I smiled, I cried and I just loved. This made my exclusive crack-book shelf and for that, I will be adding the paperback to my “real life” bookshelf when it becomes available. Just effing amazing!

“We won’t go any further than this, I promise. But please don’t ask me to stop where we already are. I need to watch you and I need to hear you because the fact that I know you’re actually feeling this right now is so fucking amazing. You feel incredible and this feels incredible and please. Just…please.

Sky’s life thus far is comprised of her BFF, Six, and her mother, Karen. She’ll be starting her Senior year in High School soon, but this time it’ll be different. She's been home schooled for all of her life and Karen prohibits anything electronic in the house: TVs, cell phones, internet, etc. When it comes to boys, she hasn’t really had any emotional connection to any of them. All the guys she’s been with, she feels absolutely nothing towards them, both physically and emotionally. Sky is damaged. She’s not the type to feel…anything. She doesn’t truly understand why, but the numbness she experiences time and time again isn’t anything new. She’s felt this way for a very long time, but there has to be a reason why she feels like this, right? It’s not until she runs into Dean Holder at the grocery store, she starts to feel butterflies. What is this foreign feeling? What makes this guy so different?

He reacts the way he does because there’s only one side to Dean Holder.
Passionate

There are parts of him I love, parts of him I hate, parts that terrify me and parts that amaze me.

Holder didn’t plan on going back to school. He’s been gone for a year, dealing with his sister, Lesslie’s, suicide. He’s damaged, too. His Hopeless tattoo reminds him of those who he let down in his life. He doesn’t want to feel anything toward this girl he just met, but there’s just something oddly familiar about her. When he notices her at the store, he practically demands her name. Unfortunately she is not who he thinks she is, but it doesn’t stop him from finding out whatever he can about her. The more time the two spend with each other, the more intense things become. The little things they start to learn about each other begin to add up to an even bigger picture. These two are connected in a way that neither of them ever imagined. When their secrets are revealed, both their lives are changed forever.

“When you become mine, it’ll be a forever thing. I’ve told you before that the only thing that matters to me with you are the forevers, and I mean that.” ~ Holder

Holder is AMAZING. I just fell in love with him. He's sopassionate and intense. When he realizes his feelings for Sky, it blows my mind at how caring and supportive he is to her. He never gives up on her. Ever. I LOVE HIM! For me, he made the story what it is: Beautiful and highly emotional. You can’t help but be enamored by him and by the story. There were so many things I highlighted and re-read just because it made me feels all kinds of tingly goodness. Like I said, Colleen Hoover has such a knack for writing and storytelling. Just do me a favor and read this gorgeous story. Oh! Before I go, just one more quote for the road:

He could kiss me for the first time, or the twentieth time, or the millionth time and I wouldn’t care if it was a first or not, because I’m pretty sure we just broke the record for the best first kiss in the history of first kisses – without even kissing.

SWOON. JUST. SWOON.

Slammed (Slammed #1) by Colleen Hoover

Following the unexpected death of her father, 18-year-old Layken is forced to be the rock for both her mother and younger brother. Outwardly, she appears resilient and tenacious, but inwardly, she's losing hope.

Enter Will Cooper: The attractive, 21-year-old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for slam poetry and a unique sense of humor. Within days of their introduction, Will and Layken form an intense emotional connection, leaving Layken with a renewed sense of hope.

Not long after an intense, heart-stopping first date, they are slammed to the core when a shocking revelation forces their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together, and the secret that keeps them apart.

Five big, enormous, gargantuan, gigantic, huge, mammoth, massive Stars!

I got schooled this year
by
a
Boy.
a boy that I'm seriously,
deeply, madly, incredibly,
and undeniably in love
with.
And he taught me the most
important thing of all...
To put the emphasis
On life.

This book was pure brilliance. Shortly after the death of her father, Layken, her mother, & younger brother, Ky, moved from Texas to Michigan to start a new life. There she meets her neighbor, Will. Will is no stranger to love & loss. He lost his parents when he was only 19 years old and now is caring for his little brother, Caulder. Will & Layken almost immediately are drawn to one another. Their first date involved attending Club N9NE, which on Thursdays close for slam poetry. They have the perfect first date. However, just when Layken & Will were forming a relationship...slam! A serious roadblock emerges and the two cannot move forward in their relationship. Both struggle immensely with keeping their feelings in check, but they cope with it the best they can for the sake of both their little brothers, who are now BFFs. Just as Layken was starting to pick up the pieces...slam! Layken is hit with some devastating news about her mother. She just cannot catch a break.

I simply loved Will & Layken's relationship. They are so similar in so many ways, that you were hoping and praying that they were going to find a way to be together. The use of slam poetry in this book was utter genius. I've never read anything like it before and I effin LOVED it. Some of the pieces written, like the one above, stirred so many emotions in me. I was blown away. Wow.

I feel extremely fortunate to have come across this gem. After reading a strong recommendation from a book blogger, I was compelled to read this immediately. Thank God I did. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Highly recommend :)
