Synopsis
Keela Daley is the black sheep of her
family. She has always come second to her younger cousin Micah. Even in
the eyes of her mother, Micah shone bright, and Keela faded to black.
Now, in adulthood, Micah is a bride-to-be and the spotlight is solely on
her. Keela is a low priority…or so she thinks.
Alec Slater is a
bachelor, never one to bed the same woman, or man, twice. He is a free
agent who does what he pleases and answers to no one; that is until a
fiery Irish redhead with a temper to match her hair colour knocks him on
his arse. Literally.
She hates to admit it, but Keela needs a favour from the
cocky Slater brother, a huge favour. She needs him to not only escort her
to Micah’s wedding, but to also pose as her boyfriend. Alec agrees to help
Keela, but has certain conditions for her to abide by. He wants her body
and plans to have it before anyone can say I do.
What he doesn’t
plan on is losing his heart as well as the possibility of losing his
family when someone from his past threatens his future.
Alec owns Keela,
and what Alec owns, Alec keeps.

“I’ve only known you for a few days you have already made an impression on me.
Nobody has ever made an impression on me. You’ve worked your way under my skin
and you’ve done this by pissing me off.”
After
reading the first book in the series, Dominic, I was really looking forward to
more. Not only are the Slater Brothers HOT, but if book one was any indication,
the heroines they’re paired up will not be your typical heroines. If you’re
anything like me, I love my heroines headstrong and know how to put the Heroes
in place. If Keela was anything like Bronagh, I was going to love this story. But
would the HOT brothers and snarky heroines be enough?
“I’m possessive with what is mine.” He moved his head up to my mouth before
releasing it with a pop. “And until I say otherwise kitten, you’re mine.”
Keela is
desperate. Her cousin Micah is getting married and she needs a date to her
wedding, but not just any date, she needs someone to play the loving and doting
boyfriend.
Enter
Alec Slater. He’s everything she doesn’t want to need: Sexy, cocky and
arrogant. Yea. You know where this is going...
If you’ve
read Dominic, we all got to know a little about Alec. He’s Dominic’s older,
ex-escort, bisexual brother. As soon as he set his eyes on Keela, it was game
on. But many problems arise while trying to woo Keela, including Keela herself
and the past that consistently haunts him.
“Oh, I’m bettin’ there is a bad girl deep insider her somewhere. I’ll just have
to use my fingers, mouth, and cock to bring her out to
play.”
As much
as wanted to love this book, I just couldn’t. I mean, it was good, but so many
things bugged me. First off, it really took a while for the story to get going;
yes, very slow moving. Second, OMG! I swear I got a case of blue balls waiting
for something to happen. Thirdly (and this is huge) is that
I had a hard time coming to terms with what Alec did. I’m sure if you read more
reviews, they’ll mention what “did” is. No worries though, this book won’t
deter me from wanting more Slater Brothers.

Lol @ Blue balls waiting! Too bad you didn't like this one as much as the first but it sounds like a series to look for overall, though. I love series like this who gives us a new character in each book but that they're all interconnected somehow! Great review!
ReplyDeleteHi Giselle! Thanks for stopping by the blog!!
DeleteHahaha!! It really was sexually frustrating waiting for these two get it together! Grrr!! LOL!! I REALLY Loved Dominic (book one in the series), and I really wanted to love this one, but I just couldn't. I am looking forward to the next book though :)
