I hope the cyclone never stops.

This book was fantastic! A very unique spin on a great 'love story'! (I think) :)

I will warn you right off the bat that this book has a cliffhanger and I don't know the release date of book two. I knew this going in but it was getting such good reviews, so you all know me, cliffy and all, I needed to see for myself, and WOW! What a ride!

I got this book from Netgalley awhile ago and I just hadn't gotten around to it, even though reading the synopsis I thought it sounded amazing. The thing is, I still am not sure how I feel about the main characters. Let me explain what I mean....

Emma a run from an abusive stepfather and two complete A-hole brothers and is on her own for the first time. She is a little fucked up and at times a lot snarky and sarcastic, which I love. However, David just shows up in her life under the pretense of repairing things in her new apartment. Now, David crosses some lines right off the bat that would have me showing him the door and maybe getting a deadbolt, and of course Emma is irritated at first but gets over it and they quickly begin to fall for each other.

It's not really a pretty love story, and without giving much away, we aren't really sure that David isn't a monster! Not like a 'monster' monster, but evil, a bad guy! Although most of the book is from Emma's POV, we get to here from David at the beginning and at the end - not really enough to be sure how this is going to play out.

All in all the book for me was really unputdownable (that's a word, right?) and it left me incredibly intrigued, so much so that for days after I finished I thought a lot about David and Emma and where there story was going! Not being able to get the story and the characters out of my head is the trademark of a great book for me!! So if you have handle a cliffy, which I know a lot of you are shaking your heads right now, but if you to antsy and curious like me, I honestly think you will be happy you read this story, at least this first half!!

***This book was provided to me (awhile ago) by Netgalley!
