WOW!! This book was amazing, it sucked me in from the first brutal chapter and never let go!! I finished it in less that 24 hours, yep, it's that good!!
I will admit that I picked it up because of the beautiful cover and I am a sucker for stories about beautiful people with ink, but this book was sooooo much more! Maybe if I had read the whole synopsis, I might have had an idea what I was in for...I missed this part...

This is exactly what this was, it was a raw, brutal story of a girl who was born into the life of a motorcycle club and wanted nothing more than to get out of that life and live her own. But growing up as the best friend of the boy who is to be the next president of MC sealed her fate. She was always destined to be his and property of the club. Sounds horrific, right?? So much of this story was! Believe me, some of it was incredibly hard to witness. However, Keller is one of the strongest characters I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! She is an amazing tattoo artist and survived in her short 21 years things that would have ended most of us! She wears her story on her body in the Beautiful Ink she has!
Keller ends up running from the club and breaks her #1 rule, she found a place and made friends and got comfortable, oh and did I mention, fell in love!! She tries so hard to push Vin away but he won't take a hint and she finally gives in. She is so drawn to him they eventually fall in love. Which is dangerous for everyone. But, the fun part is everyone has secrets and you know how interesting the revealing of secrets can be!
"I understand now. It's beautiful ink. So much more that just a design, it is part of our story, lovingly placed on my skin." ~Vin
This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last if every story she writes has such raw, brutal emotion in it! This is NOT A CLIFFHANGER so go ahead and enjoy the HEA, although I hope there will be more to this story some day!!

I love gritty tales but I shy away from MC books because of how women are treated and portrayed. How is that here? Is there a huge amount of misogyny?
ReplyDeleteTo an extent, yes, but I believe misogyny is rampant in these books because that's how the life is, ya know? These are people who grew up in it though and it's all they know. Are there some parts that are hard to swallow? Yes, but if you are a fan of gritty tales I think you'll like this one. If you're not sure I will say read the first chapter of this one, if you can handle chapter one, you will be home free because it is about the roughest. :) I hope this helped!
